Got my letter today too. B3 is shipping Thursday. Certified Developers must send their original B2 disks and disk folder to get B3 for free or send $20 to CATS. They also mentioned that they are planning to refer to 1.4 as 2.0 in the future……the wild speculations continue 🙂 Harry Manolopoulos

On the scheme for "COLOUR FONTS" I believe some great things are possable if fonts were stored with grayscales. We have done some research and the quality of text is improved a lot by doing this. The "Jaggies" blend away and very small fonts are still visable. What do you think?

With ColorFonts, you're free to make grayscale fonts. Have you any you've made that would demonstrate just how nice they'd look?

Yes indeed John. We did a research project to scale fonts with gray scales/ Oops. Anyway we wanted to do two things. #1 Scale fonts and do it so they looked right and #2 use gray scale information as part of the data to prove one way or the other if it was "Usefull" to do so. We were able to create a line of text (all caps the alphabet) in a 2*2 (or was it 2*3?) font and we figured if people could recognize it we were a success. We went to an AIM show with it and everyone saw it. Lawyers wanted to buy it for fine print <grin>.
