I just read a very disturbing report in a disk magazine about the possible course of the new Amigas. This unauthorized report from the November developers conference said that the new 'Baby' Amiga with built in disk (][c or ST style) would have the expansion port on the left and turned upside down! What about encouraging all the people developing hardware for that port! Sounds like just flipping the Board or something. Never opened my box but that plan sounds like a sure discouragement for serious development. Their rumor on the high end business machine was even worse. Internal slots, sure, good idea. But a different spec than Zorro? If this is true then all the add on hardware that has been developed so far will soon be junk. Sidecar will be orphaned beacause PC AT on a card will be developed to go in the Big Amy and that will be it. ( actually that is a much better idea, I had about decided to wait for a PC Zorro card for a side expansion box ) Can any one shed any Light on these rumors? If they are true then I fear that Amiga development will be destroyed.
