I just got my first _real_ look at a Firecracker in action. (actually saw
it put head-to-head with a DMI Resolver). I'm quite impressed, I like it a
lot… So tell me why I don't need a board with a 340×0 chipset in it (for
3-d stuff, especially :). The thing making me lean toward such a board (not
the Resolver.. one I can get for less) is that it's less than the FC, _and_
it has a 34010 in it. <sigh>
I am not with Impulse, but I do have a FC, and it can do as many colors
as there are pixels on screen. The Resolver and CBM's own 34010 card can
only do 256 colors at a time.
It would be great to see Impulse build a new FC with a 34020 chip and a
socket for the 34082 fpu. It could still have 16 million colors. The pice
on such a beast might be a bit scary….. 🙂
