I've seen the tape and read the brochure on the Mac workstation, but a
question or three remain. The brochure says "internal time base correctioin
with S-video input/output." The Toaster now does S-video? Does this mean
the signal is TBC'ed without benefit of a TBC card or external TBC? (I
understand TBCs, I'm just not sure what implications that clause on the
brochure has for what I'll need to buy.) Also, could you direct me to the
souhernmost Florida dealer/s for the Mac interface? (Living in the Florida
Keys means I'm a long way from almost everything- hooray Compuserve!) Any
good books on Toaster video production?

The Video Toaster needs either external or internal time base correction
(TBC). The Toaster will accept S-Video input through a TBC.
The Mac Toaster software interface (to the Video Toaster Workstation)
should be available within the next several weeks. Please call the NewTek,

your closest Dealer. You can also chat with our TeleReps at length they can
answer most of your questions or find out the answers for you if they don't

RE: Any good books on Toaster video production?
I'm interested in getting more up to speed on the Toaster too. I don't know
if this is any good, (maybe someone else with eyes-on experience can pipe
in here) but I saw a video tutorial advertised. Here's the blurb I read:

I looked at 3 or 4 tapes about Amiga/Toaster operation. I bought the one
you referenced for use in the Public Access facility I manage. It seemed
the most clear and least gimicy.
Comments I've received from those Access user/volunteers who viewed the
tape suggest the pause button on the VCR should be used more during the
viewing and a glossery of terms would be very helpful for the novice.
I have to say I recommend it. I've also talked with the folks who made the
tape on the phone, and they seem pretty nice.
