#AniPro 640×480
4 messages in this thread
My problem is doing the tutorials in AniPro at 640 x 480. I have a AT&T
329D monitor and their VDC600 (256k of memory) graphics board. The monitor
is capable of 800 x 600 at a vertical sync of 56, 60 or 70Hz. Maybe I need
a new graphics board with more memory or just a better driver. Help, what
do you think? Any solutions to this problem?
Thanks…….Rick
You cannot get super vga with only 256k. You need at least 512k and
preferably 1Mb to achieve super vga resolutions. With 256k you can only get
standard vga 320×200 256 colours, remember anipro needs a 256 colour mode.
I suggest you get a vesa compatible super vga card with 1Mb memory –
Diamond Speedstar is what I use and will work at up to 1024 x 768 in
anipro.

I might have to upgrade my graphics card. Do you know if there will be a
problem doing the 4-14 tutorials at 640 x 400 x256, instead of the stated
640 x 480 x 256.
Thanks……Rick
Good question Rick,
I'm sure the Yost Group could answer that one better than I. I suggest
trying it and if you can get that display resolution with your card at all
then go for it. The only problem I can imagine is when you load some of the
images necessary for the tutorial, they may get chopped losing significant
detail. If so, use aniconv (the included converter) and scale the images to
640×400 and save them under a different name.
