Where abouts in Fry's did you find the CD caddies? I went looking, and
didn't find them. Fry's reps were very helpfull…NOT!

If I can butt in… Fortunately I found a friendly Fry's manager this
morning that was sufficiently fluent in English and their inventory system
(a rare combination, indeed, there!). It took him about 10 minutes, paging
thru every Sony item they stock, to find them (They're apparently not out
on display). The bad news was $13.95 each. Mail-order can be as low as
$5.50 in quantity, plus S&H.

Yeah, one certainly doesn't go to Fry's for the people that work there. If
they had half a brain, they'd put out a few terminals on the floor with
some nifty "search by item" database, and let the customer find their own
stuff.

Funny place. Great selection, but the prices are all over the map,
sometimes really low and often ridiculously high. Caveat emptor and all
that…
I saw your reference to mail order CD caddies.. How about posting the
address or phone number of such a place. I've been looking in various PC
magazines for ads, but so far to no avail.

Re: Mail order CD caddies – I just received a shipment from CD Rom, Inc. –
they're at 800/821-5245 or 303/231-9373. I paid $6/each for them.

There's quite a bit of info in file laser3.txt in Lib #4; it's near the end

At the Sunnyvale store, they were in a locked plastic display case which
was in use displaying various brands of cdrom drive upgrade kits — about
five rows back from the front of the store.
