In addition to CBIS, you might also contact Jostens Learning Corp., if your
schools aren't already in touch with them. They're the largest school
computer vendor, by far. They've been doing CD networked multimedia for a
few years. They're the developers of the Compton's Multimedia Encylopedia,
which they sell to schools on networks.
There's been quite a bit of discussion of CD networking in the Usenet
CD-ROM mailing list, which is compiled into files in Library 1 of the
Multimedia Forum. If you search under "network" and "CD-ROM," you should
find the files.
