I am looking for information/pricing on publishing via CD Rom. Once info
information is prepared (files, indexing?), what is involved and wht are
costs? Rough guidelines to get me started would be appreciated. Thanks.

Once you have your data prepared, the next step is to get it pre-mastered.
That means putting it in a ISO9660 CDROM format. Then a glass master needs
to be made, that's called mastering. Once the master is produced, it's
used to create copies from, called replication.
Nimbus general pricing- Not the cheapest, but definately superb quality
Pre-mastering – $250.00 Mastering – $1,000.00 (assuming a 10-day
turnaround) Replication – 200-500 $2.00 each
501-1000 $1.65 each
1000-5000 $1.40 each
10000+ $1.00
Also consider the amount of direct customer support. No one *NO ONE*
holds the customer's hand and has more concern over a customer's job than
Nimbus. We're extremely fussy about quality workmanship and service.
Thanks very much for your prompt reply. Hard to believe you're not the
cheapest… looks pretty reasonable to me. How do I find out more about
formats, ways to structure data bases for CDROM and so forth. I'm fairly
literate in online and micro data bases, but know very little about what is
similar or different when you move to CDROM. Also, how much data can I
assume a CDROM to hold.. the raw number, and the realistic one after one
assumes overhead for indexing or whatever. Thanks again for the quick
