Is it possible to convert a SUPRA 2400 Baud modem to 9600 internally I saw
a hack for this kind of thing a while back but it was for NON Hayes
compatible modems only so alas it was of no help!

The way to convert a 2400 bps modem to 9600 bps is to sell the 2400
bps unit and use the money to help pay for a 9600 bps model. The circuitry
between the two types of modems are *very* different. I've seen the file
describing the hardware hack you're describing. The kindest one word
description I can use is "bogus". That file is a complete hoax. You should
tell the sysops of whatever BBSs you see it on to delete it.
