Hello Kevin,
Well I am still fighting with ANIPRO and TPLUS.
I had not had a chance to thank you yet for your help
last week. As far as being more specific I'm not sure
I am able. I did clean up memory conflics with QEMM
but to no avail. Before I run AAPRO I use tconfig not
tmode and I config as Targa+ SVIDEO Genlock on or off
makes no differance, no VGA pass, 16 bit 512×476,
then I save that to a file Screen.bat then exit to
ANI prompt type the word screen to activate that
resolution then enter ANIPRO as usual.
Then I get to Extras menu and select screen size and
from there I have tried all three differant drv's
for Targa which only two would work any way on my NTSC
monitor. That's when ANIPRO shows up on the NTSC monitor
but the mouse is erasing ani menu's as it moves and each
time a menu is not choosen any longer it seems to be staying
in the framebuffer is the only way I can describe it totaly
unusable. The fact that you told me the drv's work good for
you helped because at least I know now that I have a problem
and the drv's are compatible. I know this is not your problem
but I was wondering if you think I am better off trying to
get help from Truevision or Autodesk.

Sorry you're still having problems. I still consider the behavior
to be due to a memory conflict you have not yet addressed.

Kevin,
I think I have located something that might be the cause but do not
know what to do about it. At drivers choice menu in Ani screen size Targa
drv's are the only one's that have zero bytes availible on info screen.
Well if you didn't figure out before that I am a greenhorn at this it is
probably obvious now thanks for your patience.

I would second the possibility of a memory protection conflict. I am using
Animator Pro with a TARGA+ card for S-video. Late last month I went
through a dialogues on this forum relating to memory protection conflicts.
One thing I did not mention, since it was not the most frequent symtom, was
a situation exactly as you describe with the mouse. My problem eventually
boiled down to replacing my disc drive.
Incidentally, I also use TCONFIG, not TMODE to start up. It depends on
what kind of device you are working with, whether you use genlock or not.
Talking to my VCR, I leave genlock off. On the other hand, going through
my Panasonic AVE5, I turn it on. (It works for me using no VGA pass-thru,
NTSC 512*486, no memory manager.) My dealer was supposed to be my first
line of support, but he knew nothing. He would have given me the
Truevision dealer support number had I not solved this problem otherwise.
Perhaps yours will give it to you.

Thanks for your concern. CSA is one of the first Truevision dealers
(when they were AT&T Electronic Photography and Imaging Center [EPIC]), and
I hope, one of the most technically competent. My experience with Targa
goes back to 1985 (when the ICB was king, and the original Targa 16 first
came out), and I am a frequent beta tester for imaging-related products.
