I have a solution!
Since you said it was a bios problem I looked around and found in the IBMHW
forum an update to the RAPIDBIOS program for STB. This program is to speed
the card by replacing the rom with a ram version, but at the same time, the
ram version of the bios fixes the problem!
Maybe someone else with an STB (or maybe any other tseng 3000 card) can use
it, so I uploaded it to the general area.

supporting Mammals.
This fix should make systems like yours run LinkWay correctly inthe MCGA
mode.
