ICD Novia/A500

Does anyone have any comments, pro or con, on the ICD Novia internal hard
drive system for an A500? I'm looking into it, but have nothing but
magazine ads to go on. Thanks for any info. – John
John,
I saw a Novia/20 that my dealer installed in a 500 and it was impressive.
The access time is quick, and of course it fits right inside the box. That's
a plus for me since I take my 500 to and from work frequently.
I haven't bought one yet but the 40meg seemed reasonably priced for what
you get.
Hope this helps.

I just purchased a 60MB Novia hard drive for my Amiga. I to hope it fills
my expectations.
I purchased the Novia_20i just about three months before the 40 and 82 mb
versions came out (which the manufacturer assured me would not be available
for at *least* the better part of a year – [freakin' liers]) and the only
problems I've had with it is a read/write error which took forever to get
around, the fact that you can't use ATonce with it, as they both share the
same interface, and I couldn't use it with my shield attached, as it
pressed on the drive itself, which is what causing part of the read/write
errors to begin with.
Other than that, I love it, and am using it right now (and am quickly
running out of space on it too)!

I've installed a bunch of CP2022 (20megIDE, conner) with ADIDE44's (same as
novia20) on A500s with 0 problems. Didnt' go to 40meg because of the PRICE
of those little 2.5 inch 40 meg drives, until I just recently found some at
reasonable prices. I also remove the shield and just velcro the drive to
the top of the A500 case! works great :)!
