term 2.1 help!

Hi, is anyone out there using the program TERM 2.1? I'm trying to get it
set up, and the only problem I'm having is getting on CompuServe (other
boards seem to work fine, but CI$ drops at least half the incoming
characters and doesn't handle CRs right). I'm calling using JR-Comm right
now, and although I've got term configured similarly, it won't work. Also,
I'm using a Courier HST. Any help would be appreciated; it looks like a
nice program, but I won't give up CompuServe for it! Thanks.

I tried Term 2.0 awhile back, and dropped it cause of the lousy 'chat mode'
that reminded me of JRComm (only thing I have against JRComm). I tried 2.1
to see if they fixed it, they hadn't.. and I couldn't get this one to dial
from the phonebook.
Today must be Sunday. I never could get the hang of Sundays.
Well, I got the phonebook working ok, but in addition to the problems I
mentioned while connected to CIS, I occasionally get pure garbage when I
connect to local boards. I suspect that there might be a setting I haven't
made on my HST, because the program is (to the best of my knowledge)
configured properly. I'm pretty lost however, because the garbage doesn't
always happen (only CIS is consistant). Too bad; looked like a really nice
program.
Just Sundays, eh? I have similar problems with the rest of the week.

Do you have Strip Bit 8 set in your terminal preferences? I had a
problem simular to what you describe and that took care of it.
