Robert, Windows with Multimedia Extentions are only available from
manufacturers who offer the MPC upgrade kits. If you have a MPC sound card
already, then contact your card manufacturer and order the Extensions. The
MME comes on a CDROM and usually offers to upgrade your version of Windows
to 3.00a if it isn't already. If you don't have a MPC compliant sound
card, you will have to buy one to qualify to get the MME. I ordered my
copy of the MME from Creative Labs as I already had their SoundBlaster Pro.
It was $49.95. Similar deals can be made with PAS the card, I believe a
CompuAdd card, a Swan card, the Turtle Beach card and I think the new ATI
card. Cheers, Keith.
Thanks Keith.
Do you know if the MPC kit will work with my Sony 7205? I remember someone
here on the forum mentioning that Sony said that the 7205 is not compatible
with MPC or something like that. Would that mean that I wouldn't be able to
use a sound card like Sound Blaster? I presently don't own a sound card.
