There is a similar effort, called CDRDx, which is being promoted by
the intelligence community in and around Washington, D.C. (i.e. CIA). I
picked up a demo CDRDx CD-ROM published by Helgerson Associates in Falls
Church. It was not impressive; good idea, poor implementation.
I am telling you this so that you know that there is more than one
proposed standard for client/server retrieval software. SFQL is the
creature of the Air Transport Association and they are trying to settle
their differences with the CDRDx crowd. It could take a while. Better
find something that works now and switch to the "industry standard" when it
has become standard.
