#Mammals CD KO's Rodent
5 messages in this thread
My brother has just purchased the National Geographic Mammals CD-ROM (by
IBM Educational Systems and Asys) to run on his DAK BSR 386SX with the DAK
CD-ROM and the BSR mouse. The BSR mouse will not run with this program
–though it runs with *all* other programs he has (including Windows 3.0
and other CD-ROMS, etc.). Also, the video is *very* poor with this program,
even though it says it requires VGA and the machine has an ATI board with
512K, which displays 256 colors with most programs.
We have loaded the mouse in the AUTOEXEC.BAT, CONFIG.SYS, etc. — but no
luck with anything. Can anyone help us? Thanks! **ED
Ed, I have the disk and also had a mouse problem when I first installed it.
The mouse must be 100% Microsoft compatible or it will not work. Also,
make sure you have the latest Microsoft mouse driver ver 8.0 or 8.1.

Ed,
Call customer service and find out if you have the latest version of the
BSR mouse drivers. If not, ask them to send it to you.

Thanks, Bryan! You mean *DAK* customer service — or BSR? With BSR we
just get a ringing phone! (grin) I *know* your Customer Service has come
through for us in the past, however.
Do you spend much time here? My brother is having a great time with your
CD-ROM and computer — and has made a number of other CD purchases, too. He
and his kids *love* the machine and the drive! He put extra memory in the
ATI video board and gets remarkable graphics. Pretty neat! **Ed 🙂
Ed,
I meant DAK Customer Service. I think some of the earlier mouse drivers
had problems with Mammals.
Thanks for the kind comments — glad your brother is enjoying the CD-ROMSs.
We're working on some new CD bundles. With luck we may get two or three
new bundles out within the next couple of months. Stay tuned.
