Are there any PD non-proportional/monospaced fonts available for PageStream. I'm trying to import spreadsheet text files and am having difficulty with all the proportional fonts. The only one I've ever heard reference to is "Courier", and since it doesn't seem to be in the libs (except for a proportional UltraCourier), I assume it's commercial.

There are several non-proportional fonts. Courier, LinePrinter, Olympia… BTW, PageStream 3.0 has a monospaced tracking option so you can use any font as a monospaced font. Michael – Soft-Logik Publishing

Michael, Thanks for the information-but maybe there's something I'm just not getting. I thought the idea behind a monospaced font was that every character had the same width? I downloaded the Olympia font. The file description said that it was monospaced. So as an experiment I opened a text window. Inserted the number string "12345", hit return, and typed in the number string "11111". Shouldn't have the last "1" in the second string been vertically aligned with the "5" in the first string? I thought that was the idea behind monospacing. Instead, the last "1" was under the "4", and only the first column (both 1's) were aligned. Is PageStream 3 available yet? Will it users of 2.2xx be able to update (and at what cost)? This leads me to my last question, I'm using pageStream 2.2HL, I'd like to update to 2.22. I noticed in the AmigaVendor forum a file to upgrade 2.2HL to 2.21 and a file to upgrade 2.21 to 2.22. Do I need both files, or can I just get the upgrade to 2.22? Barry

Monospaced: yes, every character must have the same width for it to be a monospaced font. I don't have Olympia so I can't test it, but if you have TypeSmith you can open it up and check it out. PageStream 3.0 will not be available until late summer. Upgrade prices are high because this is the largest upgrade ever for an Amiga desktop publisher. If you have PgS 2.2 the upgrade is $125. If you have PgS 2.2 and HotLinks Editions the upgrade is $95. Patch upgrades: yes, you need both. Or you can order the upgrade disk from sales for $10. (Free with any order.) Look in your latest DTP World for an order form. You'll be notified of the availability of 3.0 in the next DTP World. Michael – Soft-Logik Publishing
