VGA problems

Seems like I've been bombarding the forum with questions but I just made a
major upgrade of my A2000/BB286 system and I'm now trying to work out the
problems.
My system has a WANG 1024/16c SVGA card, BB286, A2000, Flicker Free II, Vector
68030 and NEC 3D monitor.
One problem involves the WANG SVGA card. I the card works almost flawlessly.
The main problem is that it automatically configures itself to the monitor
connected. If it finds no monitor connected it defaults to "monochrome" mode.
The problem is that I am running it through a switch box to my monitor. In
order to boot the BB I've got the switchbox connecting my monitor to the Amiga
side. So the VGA card sees no monitor and boots in monochrome.
My two solutions currently are to go into the BB Setup Utility and change back
to COLOR 80 and then reboot the BB (a slow process) OR connect to the VGA card
before booting the BB and by typing "blind", open an Amiga CLI and start the BB
that way (my kids use the BB and can't do this).
Does anyone have any other solution? Are there SVGA cards that work with the
BB that don't autoconfig with the monitor attached?
Did you check to see if SVGA card will let you disable the monitor
auto-detect? Some allow you to set a jumper so you can bypass the detect
feature and come up in color.

The DOCS don't say anything about disabling the auto-detect. There is
only one jumper on the board. It appears to be labeled PC/AT but
there is nothing in the DOC's about it. (Actually the DOC's that
came with the board is for a lesser version (256k VGA). I plan to
call the manufacturer. Thanks.
what most people do is switch to the bb side immediately after
binddrivers runs in the startup-sequence–you can put an 'echo' line
after binddrivers to let you know it's run. then the bb boots up,
recognizes a vga monitor, and all is well. then you can switch back
to the amiga side and go on. sorry–my shift key has quit on me–
marion crossings newsletter for the bridgeboard, etc.
That's what I've ended up doing also. I don't actually startup my BB with my
startup-sequence. I've written a script file and tied it to an icon with
XICON. I run "binddrivers" that way. What I have to do is position the mouse
cursor over the icon, switch the monitor to the BB and then double click. I
was hoping there was a more eligant way but I guess not. By the way, I've
already worn out my switch box (it was a $10.00 variety). Do you know if there
are better quality boxes available?
