I recently received a Development Amiga 4000 and I'm having some problems. I have it connected to an Amiga 1080 monitor and I couldn't get a display so I plugged into my NEC Multisync 3D and I got a display. I went into prefs and choose NTSC hires 640×200 and choose save and now I can use it on the 1080 but as soon as I run any program that changes video modes (like Dpaint 2 or 3), bang! it's back to requiring the multisync to view the screen. Is this Normal for an Amiga 4000? What about the 600 and 1200? Help! GreggT.

Do you have Mode Promotion selected in Icontrol prefs? If so, turn it off.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Well which monitor do you want to use with your 4000? If you are using it with the 1080 then you probably need to turn "Mode Promotion" off, but if you want to use it with your NEC-3D then you will want to turn promotion on. If using it with the 3D, you might want to download one of the utils that promotes most screens for scan doubling. I use DoubleX but there are other PD utils out there that does basically the same thing. // \X/ John – K7KB (TechnoJunkie at heart)
