#3DS, Diaquest, Targa+

Our setup here is 3dstudio v 2.0 on a 486 with 40meg of memory, a Targa+ card
and DiaQuest DQ- 232 controller,SONY EVO-9650.
David, I saw one of your previous notes and I was wondering if you could
posibly help with our similar setup. 3DS's "record-to-VTR" function
appears to not be working correctly. This function does not load images
into the frame buffer. It does however, control the transport fine.
"view" images works just fine. Can use DiaQuest "anitape" to record
just fine to tape (only tga images). Can use all of the Targa utilities
with no problems. Have set all environment variables correctly. WHen
rendering a single fram to tape the tape runs and then the image goes into the
frame buffer and appears on the screen. We have been working on this non stop
for 2 days. How come I can "view" images on the Targa+ from within 3ds, but I
can't send them to tape via the "disk-to-VTR" routines? We sent this note to
Gary as well but I was hoping your experience may help. So far we have a lot
of money invested in a paperweight. (frustration showing)

have you tried calling Diaquest. They have very knowledgable tech support over
there and may be able to figure out your problem.
