Kent,
From the licence agreement, I don't know. Let me do some research. The
question at hand is whether or not you need authorization to capture or record
the user interface to 3DS, ACAD, etc. and distribue, display, or broadcast
those recorded images. I'll ask around, but I can't guarantee a quick answer.
I would imagine the same answer would apply to people who are writing
publications on 3DS.
Michele Bousquet, are you listening? Did you need to get prior authorization to
duplicate the interface for the books you've worked on? I think the answer
would be the same for Kent.

I know that Michele and I didn't have to get approval for the screen captures
we did. We did, however, include the standard trademark clause in the front
pages of the book.
Just a layman's hunch but I'd say as long as you didn't misrepresent the screen
captures as belonging to another product, you should be o.k. In other words,
credit where credit is due.

CAn you guys tell me what CD samples you're talking about?
They're talking about the CD ROM which ships with 3D Studio (aka The World
Building Toolkit). Is this what you wanted to know?
