I am running 3DS V2.01. I can not get it to accept a DXF file which was
created using DesignCad 3D. The object began as XYZ coordinates in ASCII text,
which were converted into a DXF by teh DesignCad 3D conversion utility. The
points do come into DesignCad 3d Okay, and can be saved as natiev format for
that program without problem. 3DS tells me I have an invalid 3D shape. What
gives? Oh yeah, the dxf object has 5000 points, well inside the limit.
Thanks
Rich Schwartz
It's very easy for other programs to make invalid DXF files (invalid = file
that don't conform to the DXF spec). Try loading the file into AutoCAD and see
if Acad eats it. That's the acid test of a valid file.
