#HP Laserjet offset

I've begun sharing a friend's HP-LaserjetII compatible Oki830 LED printer.
I save a ProPage file to disk and print it out on her machine that's set
to C='s HPL printer driver. However, I've encountered the dreaded Laserjet
offset doom, where the margins aren't right. The laserjet for some reason
shoves everything down and to the right about half an inch. I recall dimly
a dialog on this problem here a while back. Anyone know how to deal with
this?

I found the best way to deal with the offset problem was to use
Pagestream exclusively.P^)
But seriously…just move the margins up and left 1/8" and don't forget
to reset the printer for each page. Grrr, I hate that bug. Actually it is
the printer driver from C= that is broke and not PPage. I once printed a
240 page document on my Deskjet with the above method. Some people say I
have never been the same since. ~B*\

No!!!, it's definitly PPage's fault and not Commodores driver fault! PPage
does not care about left/right printer margins! So far, there is only one
fix: let the driver cut the unprintable margins off.
For Laserjets you can do this with Kellys driver or better, my Studio
driver (wich does fix the offset in a different more reliable (to say at
least) way… but it's commercial).
You can't use the same method for Deskjet printers, because Deskjet
margins are somehow different. Anyway, there is a way to nearly fix the
offset problem: get a Deskjet driver that allows you to edit graphic page
size and page margins (again Studio ;-).
Now you can set the Deskjet top margin to 0 (default is 2) wich decreases
the offset fault and gives you a 0.5 cm (0.2 inch) margin on each side
margin and increase the printable page size by 0.84cm (.333 inch) because
of the two lines.

I always thought the problem was with the driver from C=. I guess you know
better. I no longer use the Deskjet for DTP. I got an HP LJ4M which works
beautifully. The problem with offsets does not seem to appear with
Postscript output. Where is your driver available? Is it sold in the
U.S.?
