#toaster problem

Hi my name is Victor Winklaar
I just bought a toaster system but I am having a problem. I'll try to explain
it the best way possible: When the computer is off for some time I can get into
the switcher fine, I can work on it for some time but then the screen goes
black. The only thing I can see on the screen are some short lines (like the
minus sign) moving on the scrren. I turn the computer of the back on and start
the toaster. I start to see the blue bars on the screen but then again it goes
to black and th [Dthe stripes. I turn the computer off and on again, try
starting the toaster and now it sais toaster not present. I took the board out
put it back in again but still the same problem. I think it is a problem with
heat but I'm not sure. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME!

You'll get the most help by calling NewTek and talking to them over the
phone. They are generally quite knowledgable & helpful.
Unfortunately, they don't spend much time on CompuServe.
Good Luck,

P.S. Greetings from California!
I also called Newtek about the problem I was experiencing, and they
hadn't the slightest. If Victor has any expansion boards or cards in
his Amiga, the best place to start is with a clean Amiga and Toaster
alone, then add a card back from there to find out if it's a
card/board compat problem IMHO.

I know that, when I purchased my Toaster, I had a similar problem,
but that instead of the screen going blank, I'd get a Guru Meditation
Error. After weeks of frustration, diagnostics, stats, and many
A2000 Case removals, I found the stupid idiotic problem was with my
1.3/2.04 switcher I had in the system – it's called 'Switchzit' or
something like that. I removed the card and emplanted the 2.04 chips
solely into the rom sockets of the Amiga Motherboard – that
eliminated the problem and solved mine entirely. Hope this helps.
