#Address Change
4 messages in this thread
CD ROM, Inc. is moving.
Due to an increased activity both in our distribution program as well as the
consulting activities of our company, we are moving on April 30th.
Our offices will be closed on Monday, 3 May, 1993 and will resume again on
Tuesday, 4 May from our new address on top of Lookout Mountain outside of
Denver.
Our new office, located over 8,000 feet, overlooks the beautiful city of Denver
on one side and the magnificant Rocky Mountains on the other.
If you are in the Denver region, please stop by and visit us.
New Address effective 1 May, 1993:
CD ROM, Inc. 603 Park Point Drive Golden, Colorado, 80401 Tel. 303-526-7600
Fax. 303-526-7395 Toll Free. 800-821-5245
Roger:
Lookout Mountain, huh? Great place! Isn't Buffalo Bill or someone buried up
there? You'll be getting some good exercise moving desks around at 8000 feet!
BTW, any word on any forthcoming new technology announcements?
Best of luck in the move – Rich Bowers
Rich,
Tom Carlton called me a couple days ago and I think we are planning a big
release on June 1. I'll keep you informed. By the way, do you know beyond
this forum where an honest vendor might advertise their wares? <<grin>>
Roger:
I'm certainly looking forward to your announcement.
As for the other question, the fact is this Forum may not be available much
longer for announcements from commercial interests in the same way it has been
in the past. In fact, CIS policy forbids use of the system for advertising.
The obvious question, of course, involves the gray area between "information"
and "soliciting for commercial advantage."
Each Forum sysop is pretty much left to determine on his/her own what is
advertising and what is not. The definition allowed by previous operators of
this Forum has been, shall we say, liberal. I personally feel that if such
informaiton is confined to a specific section – Marketplace – then members can
access it or avoid it as they wish, and such information is just as valid and
valued as any other. But we have been singled out lately as an extreme example
of the lax enforcement of policies run amok, and I will probably be hearing
formally from CIS in the not-too-distant future that we will have to eliminate
and/or drastically change the "Marketplace" section.
So, you probably won't find another place to reach CIS members outside the
Electronic Mall or CIS Classifieds. In the meantime, keep your head down, and
avoid blatant advertising techniques, focussing on the "informational" nature
of the form.
Best – Rich Bowers
