#Sony's CDU31A Driver

Chuck:
I just unzipped the Sony Beta Driver for their CDU31A and installed it per
instructions in the file to put the ADD file in my OS/2 config.sys file. I did
not add the parameters – could not find them. I did put the "dual boot" line
in my config.sys file as instructed and rebooted my system. I had already
added "OTHER" to my Device Support in System Setup.
After Stacker for OS/2&DOS told me that files had been changed and I rebooted
and selected via bootmgr, I saw the CDU31A drive light display and then when
the Desktop opened and I checked the drives FOLDER, there was the CD disc for
Drive "G" (in my case). Double-click on "G" engaged the CDU31A like it knew it
was alive and working.
But, for some reasons I do not know yet, the action is very slow and erratic
when I run a menu program and a solitaire program from the CDU31A. I do not
know yet if this is because of Stacker or because I have not installed the
solitaire program under OS/2?
BUT, at least OS/2 now knows that the CDU31A EXISTS. I have not been able to
get my PAS-16 to work correctly YET. Still trying.

Cecil,
I'm glad to hear you're up and running. The 31A isn't a speed demon by any
stretch of the imagination, so I would guess that you'll see sluggidh
performance if you run applications directly off of the CD. What kind of
problems have you seen with the PAS-16?
