TO: ALL
Guess what! I loaded the beta driver from Internet access and listed (I guess)
by Chuck Roman of Sony Corporation for use at your risk. Chuck's is at CIS
74120,220.
I loaded per instructions in the ZIP file and rebooted through my BOOTMGR per
normal and GUESS WHAT, the darn thing worked to my amazement. Some problems
found and these will be sent to C. Roman as requested. I am now able to
address my Sony CDU31A from OS/2 March Beta 2.1 and from WINOS2 under the March
release of OS/2. I cannot speak for any other OS/2 versions.
The rebooting placed a (in my case) Drive "G" in my Desktop Drive FOLDER and
under WINOS2, drive "G" also appeared under FILEMGR. The CD disk ICON is shown
under the Drives Folder and accessible.
I am using Stac's beta code for OS/2&DOS (version MS-DOS 6.0 "new"), OS/2 March
Beta 2.1 from IBM's CD, and the Beta for Sony's CDU31A on a 486-50DX with Media
Vision's PAS-16. The sound card is not work correctly YET.
