Ah the closed mind. Theory, speculation, and established scientific fact. Very few people really know and understand the difference.I don't believe anything that Chris proposess, but thinking and questioning, thats a good thing. That's what advances science. It's not the people who go with the flow, conform. and fit it that make the great advances.

Hey, I'm not *proposing* ANYTHING! It's just that it's one of those 'anybody looking at it would say' things, a bit like the way the continents fit together – except in this case it is much sillier. Won't stop me collating evidence, though. Chris

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Evaporating oceans is rather dramatic, don't you think? I'm all for thinking and questions. I'm also "for" the simplest explanation.
