#VESA modes??

I am trying to play one FLC file on various IBM compatable machines, I have two
in my office. I have written a script that goes aniplay -d vesa 0 intro.scr
however on one machine the "Vesa 0" displays at 640X400 and on the outher
machince it displays 640X480 WHY?????? This is driving me crazy !!!!! Is it
possible to set the screen size the same for all IBM machines that are capable
of 640X480 ?Thats the size I want the flic to play in

In the two machines in question, are you using the same video cards, or
different ones? Also are you using the same VESA driver, or different ones?
Perhaps, using une of the Universal VESA drivers, (so you have the same driver
on both machines) may make a difference.

I have tow different video cards in each machine. however my main goal is to
distribute the FLC to other machines. A and yes I am using the same vesa
driver that came with anipro. I assume that aniplay checks the hardware and
then determines witch vesa modes are available the problem is that if it only
finds three it numbers them 0,1,2 if it finds five it numbers them 0,1,2,3,4
but in different order thatn the three. D D D D/exit

What do you mean by this?
Anyway, the VESA drivers tht ship with AAPRO are there as EXAMPLES of what a
VESA driver is. We do not expect them to work with every video card out there.
If you are using the same VESA driver with two different cards, especially one
of the VESA drivers that shipped with the software, you can expect odd results.
Actually, I am surprised that the one VESA driver works on two different cards,
they must be based on the same chipset.
Anyway, Try downloading the VESA32.ZIP or UVESA3.ZIP drivers and try it with
those. See if you get better results.
