#Service Bureau
2 messages in this thread
Hi;
Just a question for all of you out there who would like to see a full blown
service bureau to address the needs of all animation and high end graphics
professionals. We are a company in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. We actually are
the largest Autodesk dealer in Canada. And are thinking of opening up a
service bureau to service the needs of all interested parties in the areas of
animation and graphics. We need input to figure out what services are
needed/wanted in the industry. any comments or questions would be greatly
appreciated. Pretend that there is no budget for us. Right now we are
considering a 36×47" IRIS continuous tone printer, output to beta and svhs,
perhaps a cyberware scanner? definatly 10-20 Pentinum's with 32MB RAM for a
rendering farm. Please add to our list.
Thanks;

Kyle:
The service bureau you describe makes me wish I was Canadian.
For your list:
1. An affordable color output in 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17 (ie. dye-sublimation and
bubblejet) (The going rate for an Iris plot is $24 per square foot in N.J., not
quite affordable for a poor architect to make serious use of)
2. An HP650C or a Novajet for cheaper large format color prints and plots.
3. Get every know storage device to allow the transportation of files to your
site. Don't leave out any formats like QIC-80, Syquest, Bernoulli, Exabyte,
optical disk, high speed modem, etc.
4. Provide for CD-ROM mastering.
