Phil: Here's the stats for my 240 LPS, as reported by ExpertPrep: Lo Cyl: 1 Hi Cyl: 2662 Heads: 4 Sectors: 65 Formatted Size: 234 MB Blocks: 479350 Buffer Memory: 32 DMA Mask: 0xFFFFFFFE Max Transfer: 0x7FFFFFFF I'd suggest using ExpertPrep and use the following commands: UnPrep Hard Drive Low Level Format You should then be able to page thru the text field to add your partition name(s) etc. Then use: Write This Setup folllowed by AmigaDos Format Unles there's a fault in the drive (you can also try a Bad-Block ReMap) this should get you up and running with a fresh drive. All of this ASSUMING you've given up trying to save any data on the drive. ***The above noted procedure will DESTROY ALL DATA on the hard drive*** The program will warn you as well. Hope this helps! Phil, The numbers are arbitrary. It is calculated by FastPrep when it reads the firmware and can change with each read of the drive. If you cannot get the drive to appear and need to get information off of it, I recommend that you get AMI-BACK TOOLS, which has a facility for searching a drive for partitions and creating mountlists to allow them to mount manually. YOu can then retrieve your info and re-prep later, trying the values set by AMI-BACK TOOLS. GVP TECH
