Sounds cool, I have been using 3DS to create stereo flics for a while now, using a pair of modified Sega LCD Glasses, and 3DTV's stereo Flic player. I also set up 2 camera views as the bottom two viewports (each slightly apart of course) then by crossing your eyes you merge the two viewports into one 3D View! This allows me to wireframe preview the 3D flic before rendering out both views for use with the glasses. BTW I missed the original post, what are you doing with the glasses setup etc? And thanks again for your help in getting our laserdisk recorder up and running, we rendered to it non stop for 60 hours and it didn't miss a beat! Thanx….Peter

>> BTW I missed the original post, what are you doing with the glasses >> setup etc? I don't know myself! I never know until something comes out of it. Basically the whole thing started in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. A group of eight "forumnites" got together in Vegas (during the NAB show) and we, having nothing better to do, decided to go to that Luxor (monstrosity) Hotel. They had this great "rides" and the 3D perception was just phenomenal. As a lot of the stuff shown was computer generated, I thought what would take to make it easier to produce those animations. I had to start somewhere. My idea is to be able to model in 3D. I want to find better ways to interact with 3 dimensional objects.

I have gone on some of the 3D Rides and the depth perception is VERY impressive! I have also been experimenting with writing a 3D modeller to use with the LCD glasses as my biggest problem at the moment is depth perception when trying to model something. I have to keep rotating the model back and forth to stop it appearing to turn "inside out". I find the technique of setting up two slightly offset cameras and having the two viewports side by side works okay for getting depth perception with the wireframe models in 3D Studio. You view them the same way as you look at "stereo pairs", ie cross your eyes and merge the two pictures into one 3D picture. You can even do this in the keyframer and drag the slider back and forth to view the wireframe animated. Anyway, let me know how you go! Regards…Petere
