#Network Rendering Prob.
2 messages in this thread
Network Rendering worked fine until…. I tried to Network ASAP a new .3DS
file. The image rendered by the slave was not the same as the images rendered
by the workstation. Both machines are using RDPADI with tmode 11 (512×486). I
switched to NULL but the gremlin persists. Then I noticed that the scene is not
appearing the same in the views of the slave machine. I'd say that they are
cropped in about 30% in all viewports of the slave, compared to the
workstation. So I cleaned up the queue, rebooted, all those things, still the
same problem. And the problem now is for any .3DS file, including ones that
rendered from the slave successfully last week. Remember the original The Fly
movie? Vincent Price's head on the fly in the web? "Help me, help me" 🙂

What is your network configuration?
I had a customer call with this problem once (but they had TONS of problems)
and it seemed to be centered around the central server drive not being set for
file sharing. All the slaves could access the MCS simultaneously.
When they solved that problems many of their problems went away, I think this
one too but I'm not sure.
Make sure this isn't the case on your system. The easy test is if you can open
the Network Queue on two machines at the same time. You shouldn't be able to
do that, ever and if you can you need to start with fixing that.
If this isn't the problem, please outline your network system in detail.
