Is there anyone out there with GVP's '040 @ 40 Mhz acellerator in a 4000? I would like to know if you have any rendering time comparisons using Imagine. Also, and comments good or bad. Jim R. Ollick Using AP from Bergenfield, NJ

We're a Toaster dealer in the Chicagoland area. Just got our first batch of the the GVP G-Force A4000/040/40. What a er, uh, well, screamer, to steal some- one else's words….. 😉 Seriously, our test renderings with Lightwave 3.1 are running close to 5X faster than before! The absolute worst we got so far was a 3.6X speedup, but most are closer to 5X. Framestores save in 5 seconds, and everything else is sped up, too. Makes you think twice about the Raptor, since you could add one of these to your existing A4000, plus buy a well-pumped second A4000/Toaster with another GForce in it, add WaveLink, and simmer well at a 10X performance boost….. Five times faster than what? Does this card require an A4000/40 or will it work in a 4000/30?

It's five times faster than an A4000/040. Yes it will work on a 4000/030- in fa fact, you have an advantage due to the lower investment ($) in your CPU.
