When I pick a pull down menu, the dialogue box opens and computer locks up.
Appears to be a config, problem!
Does anyone have any ideas!

sounds like a configuration or hardware problem. We'll need a complete list of
your hardware and the contents of your autoexec.bat and config.sys files.
If you like you could try a totally vanilla system, with a plain config.sys
(files, buffers, statements only) and see if the problem repeats. If it does
not, then start pulling out expansion cards until the problem goes away. If not
then it could be bad ram or motherboard.
