Swap File Question
2 messages in this thread
Jonas, It still isn't clear to me about the memory/disk access problem. I read
the manual again and again and read the paragraph that you suggested again –
but it still access the disk too often. I say too often because it seems crazy
that when I load a model, go to the material editor more than a coupe of times,
I must exit the program and restart because the swapping slows the system down
so much. For example, it takes a dramatically long time for the material editor
to fully display itself if I use it too much.
So, is this normal? Or is there a fix? Is there a way of finding out if the
system (memory) is optimized? Should I not use QEMM with DOS 5.0? Would 6.2
work better? I feel like I spend so much time exiting and restarting 3DS (which
I do about 20 times a day) that there must be some way around the problem.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks
– Gregory
