Can anyone confirm that sample models on the WCT CD ROM in are free to be used
without further credit to the original provider of the model.
From reading the 3DS Advanced User Guide (pg 49) and License Agreement it seems
that indeed these models may be used for publication, without mentioning
credits or source but no one can really confirm this.
Thanks in advance,

I can confirm that if you use a .3ds file from the WCTK to produce an image or
animation, you don't have to provide credit to the original source.

Thanks for the info,
Philip
Philip,
As stated in the reference manual, any of the geometry found on the CD rom
under the Geometry subdirectory can be used by you and distributed.
The only possible exception to this can be found in the R3 licence agreement
under the section "Multimedia Software" which states that you can not include
the player and other "animation" files in "commercial software products"
without the written permission of Autodesk.
For broadcast or publication of these animations and User Works, no copyright
or written agreement is required, as stated in the licence agreement.
If you feel the wording is unclear, or need further clarification, feel free to
contact Gail Penner in the Multimedia Legal Dept. at Autodesk. She will work
with you on a case by case basis to insure that all copyright restrictions have
been met for any individual project. She can be reached at 415-332-2344.
