Gary, the only problem I've found is that the cutoff is still opaque rather than alpha. I've tried both Alpha and RGB with intensity or Key color with mix results but have not been able to achieve a clean matte. Is there a way around this or is this just the way it is for the time being? -JE

It's not as much of a problem as you think. If DavidS has some time this week, he'll upload his example and all will become clear to you. I'd do it myself, but I'm so busy this week with final IPAS3 stuff that I'm a bit crunched. Toasted, – G

O.K. Gary, I'll take your word for it. But pardon me if I'm skeptical. I've done as many as 14 layers with matteing in and out. Remember I was the one who found the TGA bug when doing layering, ie the reason you have to use IFL files. <g> I'll go bother David and see what he has been able to do. 🙂 -JE

This doesn't have anything to do with the 512-byte-per-frame leak when using IFL files if USE-TGA-GAMMA is on. Hopefully David is a little less busy than I am, and he can share his .prj file and technique with you soon. – G

Gary, >> This doesn't have anything to do with the 512 byte per frame leak… << I realise that, my point was that if I wasn't adept at compositing, I wouldn't have discovered the problem, as its only in heavy layering that it becomes apparent. 3 layers or more as I recall. Anyway I've posted a query to him. We shall see. -JE
