Help!
Does anyone know of any construction estimating or specification software,
which may or may not be compatible with AutoCAD, that can be used to aid for
teaching College level estimating and specification writing courses?

Nick – try posting your query on the AutoCAD Forum (GO ACAD). Section 13
"Applications" would be the appropriate section.
The ones that I'm familiar with are Timberline and Softdesk Estimating, but
you may hear of more on the ACAD Forum.

Hi Nick,
I just browsed your request and thought you might be interested in a package we
developed for a large const. estimating company in So. Cal. It's basically a
stand alone worksheet and report generator written in assembly. No specs
capabilty, but my students at Palomar College have found it useful to build
professional estimates.
If this might be useful, let me know. I can work out an affordable site
license. ($500 ?)
Thanks, Dick L.
Nick,
A local company here in Portland produces Timberline. It's fairly well-known,
but I have not used it personally. A lot of contractors and builders use it
around here. They have a good site-licensing deal for AutoCAD training
centers, and may extend that to most schools. Sorry but I do not have their
phone number.

Thanks for the Tline phone # Gus.
