Can anyone help me with the following problem ? I would like to use my
A1000 at work as a terminal for the SuperFlow 901AT Dynomometer. This
racing engine dyno is designed to use an ibm/pc as a simple terminal with a
file saving feature. It connects the pc to the main console via com2 serial
port. The software is on 5.25/360k media. Does the transformer recognize
the serial port ? Does anyone have one ? How about the sidecar ? If this
project works it will be of tremendous value as the multitasking ability
should allow me to graph the data without leaving the terminal program. The
ibm of course will not allow this. This dynomometer is the best in it's
class and many people might take notice of the AMIGA being more capable in
this capacity. Any comments/ help greatly appreciated.
The Transformer software takes over the Amiga, and is VERY slow.
So you lose multi-tasking and get software that runs about 1/3 the speed of
a plain old IBM-XT.
You'd do much better with an A2000 with BridgeBoard installed.
What does the term program on the IBM do? If it doesn't do anything except
save what comes in, you might be better off simply using one of the Amiga
term programs.
