#Smoothing Out Renderings

What did you mean by that? I've never used an Amiga, but I've heard
of LightWave. I'd be interested to hear how LightWave and 3DS
compare, from someone who has used both. Thanks.
Well, Pete, this was "way" back in 1985-86, when the Amiga was young
and Lightwave was just a gleam in Allen Hastings' eye called
VideoScape 3D. Although I owned it, Sculpt/Animate 3D/4D was my
primary 3D software as VideoScape didn't have a modeler with a very
"usable" user interface (plotting 3D coordinates out on a piece of
graph paper and typing them into the computer to get a model was just
a *little* tedious). Any way, the affordable Amiga and it's
inexpensive 3D software gave me a very good *basic* 3D/video
education without spending alot of money. As the mid-80's turned into
the late-80's, it looked as though the best power/price ratio was
gonna happen on the PC, so I started saving for TOPAS. I was about
half way there when 3DSr1 was announced, and the rest is history, as
they say!
There are probably a few decent inexpensive 3D programs out there for
the PC, but I'm not really sure.
There are a few folks around who can compare LW to 3DS, but I'm not
one of them. I can tell you for sure that 3DS's renderer is second to
none in the industry, though, and you'll not find a more dedicated
group of people developing software on the planet.
