I just D/L'd Virus Checker 6.41. I used the install command, and found
the VC icon, and the VC guide icon in my HD window, and not in any drawer.
Previously, I had followed the old instructions, which, according to the
current docs still works, that is, to just drag the VC icon into the
WB-Startup window. Anyone have any idea why this occurred?
I tried to click on the VC Guide icon and was told that the sys
couldn't locate "fullview" which is okay since I don't have it. So, the
obvious question is, where do I get it, and where do I put it?

I don't know about the install utility with VC 6.41 since I haven't
downloaded and installed that version yet. However, the problem with the
VCguide file is because the default tool of the icon is set to use a
"reader" that can read amigaguide text. If you have another reader such
as "amigaguide" itself or "MultiView", you can simply change the tool type
by single clicking on the VCguide icon, and selecting "information" from
the ICON pulldown menu of workbench and editing the tool type.
I have also been using another utility thats called "Mindicator", it
installs during startup and leaves an icon on your workbench screen, you
can drag text and amigaguide files on it and it will read them
appropriately. Another utility I have installed intercepts default tool
types and uses the tool type I want. In other words I have it setup so
that any text file that uses anything other than Multiview as its default
tool, actually uses Multiview without me having to change the default tool
of every text file on my system. If I change my mind and want to use a
new reader, I only have to change the setting in this utility and not
every text file on my harddisk.
I don't know which version of workbench you have, I believe that 2.1+ came
with amigaguide, I'm not sure about 2.04, its been awhile since I ran that
version. browse the library's with the keyword "guide", that should give
you a list of files that will help you out. if you don't have
"Amigaguide.library" in your libs directory, you might have to download
the "amigaguide" file as well.
