#Mac-PC network

Hi all,
I have seen many comments and articles about getting Macs and PCs in a network.
I want to connect my new PowerMac 8100 to the DEC XLs via Ethernet (the Mac
comes with an Ethernet port). Any general ideas before getting into it?

A friend of mine did this with ease using a network software called TIM BUCK 2
or something like that. I don't know where he got it but he said it worked
great. They were doing a lot of porting files back and forth for photo retouch
and compositing on MACS and rendering on 3DS. If you need I'll call him on the
phone and get the details for you. Hees not local.
Thanks for the reference, Don! I think that you are talking about Timbuktu,
which let you not only share resources but run Windows/Macintosh apps in any
computer connected to the network (well, it let you run the app in the native
computer and get it displayed/controlled throught your keyboard/mouse). It is
pretty inexpensive and I have it on my list. I don't think that any further
help on this specific one will be needed, but thanks for the reply anyway!

Apparently Lantastic 6.0 can do this no problem. M&M (marion marks) left a
post about this, but I don't remember the details. Why don't you pop over to
the Artisoft forum and ask some questions?

I am thinking in getting Lantastic and forget Net/30. If it integrates easily
with the Mac (at not additional cost, that could be the way). I will get a look

I think you can get NDIS for lantastic 5 for free in the Lantastic fourm if
that will help you but it will slow your ethernet down quite a bit.
