Yeap, KPT GD FX is good, notThere are quite a few limitations in the BXP external process architecture by
3DS4c1 to KPT GD FX. To put the negative first: You can't use two external
process at the sametime. For example: An AXP material using KPT's GRD file to
be as a map. Another one: VPost rendering as a .GRD background and having
another GRD file as a map. I found this to be extremely limiting and have to
invest in extra hd to store these monstrous animation files.
On the positive side: Very good & attractive interface, a bit "novice- like" (I
prefer more detailed controls.) Mainly, I used heavily for my captured video on
the PAR. It add more nifty fx than just the footage itself. W/ the powerful MAT
EDTR in R4, I simply combined the rotoscoped images & the GRD file. Quite a
simple setup & fast. [You could use it for projection light, ect..] I love the
layering capability that KPT GD FX is able to do.
I just got it last month and still in trainning w/ it. Give me more time &
