Howdy all, Does anyone know how to convert a .DWG to a .3DS format? I'm working with a client who is using autocad v 13 -14? they have provided us with .DXF in the past with less than desirable results and I was wondering if the .DWG format translates into .3DS any better. Any help would be much appreciated, James, Image Works, portland, ME.

Hi James, as I know, there's no .dwg to .3ds conversation, and be careful with ACAD 13's .DXF format, it's not compatible with the older format until V12. (as Brian would say : discuss it in the ACAD forum 🙂 ) Seems you just stepped on a proximity bomb, sorry. Michael

If you want to go with the .DXF files, you will need either 3DS R4c1 or the DXFPCH.ZIP file here on CIS to run on your 3DS R4. -Brian
