Cylinder mapping in .ASC

3DS doesn't correctly represent cylindrical mapping coordinates when saving out to .ASC files. There is a clear "wrap point" where the entire texture is mapped backwards in the last triangle strip. (Hard to explain. Try doing a cylinder wrap, save to .ASC, load it back and render it from all sides until you spot the problem. Fewer segments show the problem more clearly.) Help! Any suggestions? Thanks, Stefan

Stefan, I don't have 3DS running right now, but when I log off of CIS I will try this and get back to you. -Brian

Stefan, I tried this out, and the cylindrical mapping from the ASC file did indeed change around the top of the cylinder. I will forward this to our QA department for further testing. Thank you for pointing this out.

Brian, Thanks for looking into it. The main problem I have is actually on the side of the cylinder, where the seam from right edge to left edge of the texture map is. The last segment of the cylinder there has the entire texture map backwards. Thanks again, Stefan
