Well-put but I have one small question about Lightwave…..what the hell
is it? I think the msg from Brian may have slipped in from the Revlon forum,
what else could Lightwave be. Sorry for using the
"h" word but atleast I didn't yell! Prophanity in cyberspace, tsk! Gary
Cute. Revlon? What are you talking about?

Gary,

it's a very capable 3d package offering good bang for the buck. Formerly
available only on the late Amiga, it's being ported to a variety of platforms,
including Windows NT. Some think it may offer some stiff competition for 3ds4
and 3ds5, but I think it would have to be many times better to overturn such a
strong market lead. The competition is a good thing IMHO. Let's see what
happens when Lightwave/NT is released….

The thing I like about Lightwave at this point, and when 3DSR5 comes out, is
that there are 3 or 4 manufacturers of 275MHz Alpha boxes to run it on.

True. That certainly will be advantageous. I've talked to several people
running late-beta Lightwave on 275's and they are very happy with the speed to
say the least. But that's comparing it to an Amiga ….
