Help! I can't seem to select faces in 3DS4. When I choose CREATE, FACES, BUILD, then select a vertex, I believe that I'm supose to get a ruberband line to connect to my next vertex then to close. Am I wrong? Also, when I select a face to TESSELLATE, shouldn't I also get a floating triangle that I can move about the connected faces so I can select the face that I want to use? If I am missing A control setting in the 3DS.SET file, please tell me what to adjust.

It sounds like you've got either a hardware problem or the version of 3DS that you're using has become corrupted. Install the program again from the master disks, and if the problem persists, find another machine to install it on and test. For further help, contact Brian Rudolph or Nik Grant from Autodesk.

Curtis: <rubberband display of faces> I was running my main display at a deeper color depth than 256, in order to see Pennello paint effects. I found that at higher color display I lost my rubberband. Back at 256 colors all was well. jeffrey

Jeffrey, Good idea, I'll check if I'm running High Color for my Main Display. Thanks for the feedback, I'll contact you if you're correct.

Curtis Excuse me if I'm being too basic here, but if it's boxes you are working with and you happen to be in box viewing (alt-B), you won't be able to select faces at all. TedB !^NavFont01F0007MGHHG8EEAFE

Thanks for the feedback, but I was not in "View Boxes" mode… I wish it were that simple. But I also hope that it is not a corrupt program as the Yost Group infers. That would be BAD. I'd hate to do the Floppy Jockie again.
