Hi Gary, Sorry to bug you, but a couple weeks ago (re:MeshPaint) you told me that I could configure both mouse & Wacom tablet, and switch back and forth within 3DS. I tried this last week, and I could switch from mouse to tablet *once*, …after that, the s/w reports "can't find that driver" when trying to switch back to the tablet. Also, the tablet operation was very quirky using either normal or pressure stylus. Any ideas ? Maybe there's a newer/better driver ? I set this up with the tablet as default in 3DS.set, configured the 3dadi.cfg for the tablet/stylus using Polled/Absolute. It's interesting, because even though it says the driver gets "lost", the program's able to beep the tablet on exiting the program. Thanks, BILL

hmmm… I don't remember that message. Are you sure _I_ answered it? (heck, I've been so busy that I suppose I could've said anything! 🙂 I'm completely unfamiliar with the wacom drivers, and you'll have to contact one of the Adesk guys for help on this. – G

Gary, << hmmm… I don't remember that message. Are you sure _I_ answered it? (heck, I've been so busy that I suppose I could've said anything! 🙂 >> Yeah, but it actually was about 6 weeks ago (time flies)<g>. I'll check around. Thanks, BILL

Bill, I just installed a WACOM in an install with 3DS for a customer. There is a WMOUSE program that you can put in your autoexec.bat file that will enable the WACOM to emulate a MS Mouse when in DOS app's. Just setup your 3DS for mouse and it should work just fine. << There is a WMOUSE program that you can put in your autoexec.bat file that will enable the WACOM to emulate a MS Mouse when in DOS app's. >> Yes, I used it a long time ago. So, are you saying that: 1) You can use an *actual* mouse and the tablet w/ WMOUSE in the same session ? 2) And, neither driver will get blown out as you switch back & forth ? Thanks Angelo, BILL

There's a better way to use your Wacom tablet in 3DS. Wacom has this file called UDC-config. It changes the command set of the tablet. I use this to get the Wacom tablet to use the Suma driver built into 3DS. The file is on the Wacom forum on AOL. I'm not sure if they have it on CIS, but you can look for it. It works pretty good to…. you can use the tablet in absolute mode.

Michael, Wacom also has a BBS @ 206/750-0638 that has their tablet drivers and utilities. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates
