#Gargoyle mesh needed
9 messages in this thread
Our customers just don't seem to understand the scope of what we can do with
animation. They keep asking for boring logos and assemblies. So we've decided
to put together a Tour-de-Force animation in our "spare" time over the next six
months (which will hopefully put us on the map, so to speak). I only regret
that it may not be done by Siggraph (I may bring the unfinished portion
anyway).
The vast majority of the scene will be modeled in-house, except for a gargoyle
mesh. It needs to be mostly seemless as it will be Boned. Probably around 15K
to 20K faces max, as it will not be seen too closely.
I haven't done much looking beyond the Viewpoint and Acuris catalogs. If you
might have seen one on a BBS or elsewhere, I would greatly appreciate the info.

James,
You are in luck as I was wanting to do an animation with a gargoyle also I
will model one for you (with the understanding that I will use it too). If
possible I would like to get some image files from you if you have any
depicting the type of Gargoyle you want. I will probably build a higher
polygon-count and then optimize it to get it to your 20k face limit. Regards.

That sounds pretty cool, can I get in on the gargoyle option, let me know if
you need me to send anything.
Thanks Paul Boyd – Phoenix
If you can send any image files that would be great.
Brian Schmitt
I will try and find a few and get back with ya ASAP.
Thanks Paul Boyd

I will be waiting. If you have an internet account you could send the files as
a binary attach to me (brians@southwind.net) or you could send through CServe
but it costs so much for postage here.

Thanks for your offer, I may take you up on it. I don't have any images that
really depict what we're looking for. The closest mental image I can summon at
this point would be that of a muscular Gremlin (from the movies) made with
Gargoyle features. No specifics have been set in vertices yet, so there is
room for adjustment.
Is this model you're referring to something you've already started and were
thinking of refining? If so, perhaps you could send me a small JPG of it and I
could see if it's along the right lines.

I havn't started this project yet but will either Friday or Saturday after I
have taken care of prior commitments. I will send images as soon as I have
something to show. Regards.

OK, Thanks.
